Hello! Is there anyone out there reading this? My name is Meghan. I am a 24 year old currently living in Seattle and movies have always been a passion of mine. It began when I was 3 and I would cry until I could watch Cinderella, every day. The movies always changed but I never did.
I discovered my love for film when I was 14 and took my first black and white photography class. The dark room quickly became my second home in high school. Even when everyone else had switched to digital and editing in photoshop, I preferred the magic of watching your photos come to life; finessing every minute detail in order to print the perfect image.
I love film because of it's ability to capture beauty in a way I have yet to find elsewhere. Because anything is possible and it can transport you to another world when you need to escape this one, even without using a TARDIS.
My dream has always been to make movies of my own. One day I hope to write and direct horror films that are visually stunning, yet play to basic human fears. I suffered from night terrors in my youth, which made horror movies appealing to me from an earlier age than I probably should have been watching them.
In the golden age of Blockbuster, I watched nearly every single horror movie they had on their shelves, aside from the few that were clearly just a waste of time. This exposure to differing ways to invoke fear inspired me to study why we have fear as an emotion, and what causes real terror as opposed to a startled jump. I was always seeking out the adrenaline rush I got from being afraid, but it's much safer to get it in the comfort of you own home, than wandering around the basement of an abandoned house out in the middle of the woods...
